The group is currently coordinated by Professor Volnei Tita (EESC/USP) and counts with a team formed by 22 members, among them 3 supervisors, 1 postdoctoral, 9 doctoral students and 9 masters students.
Besides the members of EESC/USP, the GEA counts with several national and international partnerships. These groups have an active involving in cooperations with GEA, focusing on the development of scientific papers, enriching the scientific dissemination of the research groups involved and providing a healthy and active exchange of knowledge.
In the international sphere, the GEA seeks to enhance its international scientific cooperation, and in the past couple of years, projects have been established with several research groups linked to well-regarded universities and research centers in the world. Among them, one can mention the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Belgium, the Technische Universiteit Delft, in the Nederlands, the Universidade do Porto, in Portugal, the Air Force Office of Scientific and Research, the US-Army and Texas A&M University, in the United States, the Universidade La Habana, in Cuba and the Université Pierre et Marie Curie VI and LMT-Cachan, in France.
In addition, the doctoral students are always encouraged to pursue an opportunity of study overseas and there have been, and there are still, co-tutorship and sandwich projects for doctoral studies abroad.
In the national sphere, the GEA also seeks collaborations with respected research centers linked to Brazilian universities. Several works have been developed in partnership with the Federal University of Uberlândia (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia – UFU), the Federal University of Campina Grande (Universidade Federal de Campina Grande – UFCG), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ), the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (Instituto tecnológico de aeronáutica – ITA), the São Paulo State University (Universidade Estadual Paulista – UNESP), the Santa Catarina State University (Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina – UDESC), the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras – UFLA), Federal University of Technology – Paraná (Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná – UTFPR) and with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS).
